Tubi TV Horrors Part VI!

In this series, Kelly takes you through the diversity of horror films that you can find on the free streaming service, Tubi TV.

1) Dead Heat (1988)

When I interviewed Nick Benson for Taboo Terrors (sfx artist on NOES 4: The Dream Master plus many more) he mentioned how wacky this movie was. So in trusting him, I knew I had to check it out! And it did not disappoint - it's fun, and weird with amazing practical effects. It's campy as hell! The basic premise is that cops turn into zombies and wreak havoc on the bad guys. So grab a beer and watch this one now!

2) The Howling 2 (1985)

I absolutely love The Howling (1981). so what a shift from the original! This film is tonally quite different from the werewolf 80s classic with Dee Wallace. It’s full of boobs, sex and violence. This sequel is cheesy, fun, and I totally recommend it! Make it a double feature and keep your guests entertained all night long - Arrooooo!

3) Countess Dracula (1971)

Oh my goodness, I've been wanting to watch this movie for probably my entire horror career and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Ingrid Pitt as Elizabeth Bathory was stunning! I was hoping for more death and blood but seeing it’s a Hammer film, it makes sense that is was more gothic and subtle. I am glad I finally got to see this one as it’s a great watch. So take the time yourself with a glass of red and be seduced by the allure of Pitt’s Bathory.

4) Aenigma (1987)

As a massive fan of Lucio Fulci's work, I am still devouring his filmography when I can. Tubi is a great place for this! I would call this film “Fulci lite”, as it’s a supernatural 80s film that is lighter on the horror and gore. This is no gut busting gore fest! It was kind of gross with some good kills, a good story line and a cheesy 80s score/soundtrack. I liked it, but not as much as the grim gory flicks of Fulci’s 80s releases. This one I recommend to Jessica to watch!

5) Night of the Demons (2009)

It's remake time! As someone always curious about remakes, this is a really fun update of a classic 80s horror flick. I really love Monica Keena in this! It's got a great cast; Shannon Elizabeth dances to Type O Negative’s Black No. 1, and Eddie Furlong makes an appearance, turning this into a pretty perfect 2000s remake. It’s really over the top! Check this one out for the spooky season.
